This is a beautiful red antique French watercolor box made in the early 1900's. Our best estimate is that it was create around 1910-1930. This box is unbranded. These boxes were typically made for children and/or students. Nowadays the paints are most likely no longer considered non-toxic and safe for children.

The box is made of thick cardboard and shows quite a few signs of age (see stains and other imperfections in the photos).

Details:

• 2 layer box with removable tray.
• 17 glass pans
• 2 ceramic pans
• There are little bits and bobs left such as the original watercolor blocks, a little sketchbook and other art tools.
• The box does not latch properly, but still closes well. The little elastic cords that usually hold the pans are not in good shape and most likely would not work for that purpose.
